About Me
Hey there! Here you can read my biography, a little bit of trivia, and my works in progress.
Biography
E.F. Spencer writes fantasy, steampunk, and the very occasional science fiction, and usually of the sort that includes brave young people, elaborate magic, a handful of explosions, and some really delightful hats. Her first book, Justice Unending, was published by Evernight Teen in 2016, and her short fiction has appeared in Triptych Tales, Triangulation, and Spellbound Magazine. When she isn't writing fiction, she's still working with words, because she happens to be a full-time editor. (Just not for novels. That's how she stays sane.) She lives in New England with her husband and two very fluffy cats.
Other Fun Stuff
- I am absolutely obsessed with baking and cooking and am determined to make almost everything I can from scratch. Everything. If I find a dish I love, I am going to pillage the internet for recipes and modify them until I can make it at home. I make my own butter and cordials, I've made duplicate recipes of retired foods, and I'd love to do more.
- In the same vein as "I want to cook everything I enjoy," I also want to make everything I enjoy. Although I rarely stick with crafting long enough to get really good at it, I've enjoyed playing with crochet (which I am actually semi-decent at), knitting, sewing, and papercrafting, and I'm pretty sure I have a book on hatmaking that I have oggled but never been brave enough to try.
- I can (kind of sort of) speak a bit of Japanese. I passed level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in 2006, at least. Unfortunately, that was forever ago, so my Japanese is kind of terrible now. I still translate videogame-related stuff now and then.
- I also play a lot of videogames. Like, a lot. I'm especially into JRPGs and MMORPGs.
